TASCHA Talk: Sara VanniniAugust 9, 2012
Social representations are systems of ideas, values, and practices people adopt to interact with their reality. Starting from this construct, this research investigates community multimedia centres in Mozambique and their perceptions by the local communities. Community multimedia centres are a particular kind of public access to ICTs venue which combine a community radio (broadcasting in local languages to a maximum distance ray of 150 kilometers) with facilities of a telecentre. Sara discussed preliminary results and methodological issues connected to the research (semi-structured interviews, photo-elicitation technique and an application to TASCHA non-users survey).
