Gennie Gebhart

Gennie is a second-year Master of Library and Information Science student at the University of Washington Information School. She works on TASCHA’s Mobile Information Literacy project as part of the larger Information Strategies for Societies in Transition project in Myanmar. Her research focuses on the many facets of access in low-resource and repressive policy environments, particularly in Southeast Asia. Her current thesis looks at cybersecurity and (self-)censorship in Thailand. Other recent projects include research on zero-rating in Ghana and ongoing Open Access advocacy at the University of Washington.
