TASCHA’s Civil Society 2.0 work examines and develops innovative uses of technology — particularly social and collaborative Internet applications — to promote transparent, accountable, and democratic governance. Using participatory approaches, TASCHA applies evidence-based research and design methods to document and advance the work of local organizations and activists. Civil Society 2.0 is also part of a larger effort to forge transnational linkages, information sharing, and collaboration among those who are inventing and democratizing 21st-century statecraft. This research area draws on TASCHA's experience with NGOs, social movements, open development, and design thinking.
