Libraries in Recovery: Developing Wireless Connectivity Strategies Through and To Small and Rural Libraries For Increased Inclusion and Resilience

Dr. Jason Young and his team at UW will facilitate both research agendas. For Agenda 1, the UW team will design and carry out a series of two interviews with a librarian from each of the 5 selected library sites. They will transcribe and analyze the interviews, and then write up findings for inclusion in the project’s final report. For Agenda 2, the UW team will design and carry out a series of three interviews with a librarian from each of the 5 selected library sites. They will also perform quantitative evaluation of the general functioning of the LEO service, through collection of data such as network and service utilization. Finally, they will design and implement focus groups at each of the 5 sites, to foster discussions about the LEO services between patrons and librarians. All data from Agenda 2 will be analyzed, and findings will be written up for the final report.
