Celebrate National Readathon Day with TASCHA
Penguin Random House, the National Book Foundation, along with websites Goodreads and Mashable, have teamed up to launch the first National Readathon Day on Saturday, January 24th, 2015. Participants are asked to read between 12 and 4 pm (in whatever timezone you are in) that day and to raise funds to support the National Book Foundation.
TASCHA and fellow iSchool research group US Impact Study have joined together to sponsor a team for the National Readathon Day. We’ve pledged to read with librarians, librarians-to-be, and book lovers of all types from the University of Washington’s iSchool, and beyond. We invite you to participate with us!
There are several ways to participate:
- In-person: We will hold our readathon in the iSchool suite in Bloedel Hall on Saturday, January 24 Noon – 4 pm. We’ll have food, drinks, prizes, and games. Please RSVP here.
- Virtual Reading Room: Join us online via video chat for company while you’re reading and to participate in games. We’ll send out a link to those that RSVP. Please RSVP here.
- In spirit: Wherever you are on January 24th from noon – 4pm, read!
You can also connect via Facebook & Twitter using the official National Readathon Day hashtag #timetoread and our team’s hashtag #iRead.
