Co-designing for Trust: Reimagining Online Information Literacies with Underserved Communities

This project will establish deep and convergent partnerships between academic institutions, community organizations, news and fact checking networks, industry, public libraries and museums, K12 schools, and national interest groups to co-create new educational resources that address problematic information as a critical threat to communication systems. Problematic information has emerged as a growing threat to American democracy, as it undermines citizen trust in public information. The scale and complexity of this societal challenge necessitate not only technological solutions and new public policy, but also a fundamental and convergent reimagining of how to educate information producers and consumers and build trust in our information systems.
