Connecting the Dots: Transforming the University-to-Library Pipeline Through Geospatial Education

The University of Washington (UW) Information School requests $399,908 (with $257,343 provided in cost share) for a Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program Implementation project titled Connecting the Dots: Transforming the University-to-Library Pipeline Through Geospatial Education that develops, implements, and evaluates a curriculum for training MLIS graduate students to leverage geospatial and open data in support of the library field. The project will create an educational model and teaching resources for training future librarians to effectively use data to support the development and well-being of their communities, thereby achieving the Laura Bush Program Goal 3 (Objectives 3.1 and 3.2).
