The Community Archives Center for Tacoma

Dr. Jason Young and his team at UW will facilitate this research in three phases. In Phase I of the project, they will consult with and support TPL staff as they design and carry out initial community workshops and participatory mapping sessions. In Phase 2, they will provide guidance to TPL staff as they collect, preserve, and catalogue community materials for the archive. They will also continue to participate in community planning workshops, in a support capacity. In Phase 3, they will provide guidance on the design and evaluation of library programming, and they will design and implement a toolkit for broader sharing, based on project findings.
