Now accepting applications for a theoretical and assessment frameworks research assistant

TASCHA is now accepting applications for graduate research assistant to help design an assessment framework and assessment tools for a variety of curricular programs. These programs are aimed at increasing

  1. The professional capacity of organizations to use data for decision-making
  2. People’s digital literacy skills on smartphones
  3. Librarians’ capacities to introduce new media programs

The ideal candidate will have both theoretical knowledge and experience in educational assessment, and in particular with approaches to measuring both skill outcomes and changes in behavior as a result of training courses. Familiarity with digital learning initiatives in countries/communities with different socioeconomic levels is a plus. Assessments should utilize both paper and digital platforms. The RA will be working as part of a team and will also need to work independently.

This position will work up to a maximum of 20 Hours/Week.


Masters or PhD students currently enrolled full-time (minimum of ten credits) at the University of Washington for Winter Quarter 2018.
• Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical frameworks for educational assessment
• Experience designing and implementing assessment tools in both digital and physical formats
• Enthusiasm for and comfort with learning new educational technology-based tools and assessment methods
• Willingness to learn and follow through with a variety of projects
• Detail-oriented
• Self-motivated
• Can work as part of team and independently

Desired Qualifications:
• Interest in learning the dynamics of learning in different social, economic, and political contexts
• Experience assessing both skill and behavior change outcomes
