The Information School’s Technology and Social Change Group (TASCHA) seeks a PhD student for spring quarter to be Research Assistant on our Advancing Library Visibility in Africa (ALVA) project.
The student will work closely with TASCHA researchers on all steps of the project, from project conceptualization to carrying out interviews and analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience in qualitative research and interest in gaining additional experience within an ongoing project. Tasks will be determined by the needs of the project, but may include:
• Work with project PI to finalize research instruments (i.e., interview scripts)
• Perform literature reviews
• Perform semi-structured interviews
• Perform qualitative analysis of interview scripts
We would like a candidate interested in taking ownership of parts of the project, and growing alongside it. There may be opportunities to co-author journal manuscripts and conference papers as a result of this involvement.
The initial term of this position is for one quarter, with the possibility for summer and fall quarter employment. Additional funding may become available at a later date.
