TASCHA Hiring Winter 2019 Research Assistant
The Technology & Social Change Group (TASCHA) in the Information School (iSchool) and the School of Marine Sciences seek a graduate Research Assistant to conduct a literature review of frameworks, curricula, tools, and programs that provide organizations and individuals data skills for better decision making. Of particular interest is capacity building that gives diverse communities with different resources the tools to create and use knowledge in ways that can also support national and international statistics.

Responsibilities may include some or all of the following duties:
- Search for relevant articles, resources, and projects (20%)
- Analyze literature to determine areas coverage, overlap, and gaps (30%)
- Apply findings from the literature review to better understand best practices in data capacity building programs in select areas of marine conservation (40%)
- Additional literature-related tasks as necessary (10%)
The ideal candidate will have a desire to think critically and creatively about key data skills and how they can be situated in the contexts of different communities. The RA will be working as part of a team and will also need to work independently. This position will work up to a maximum of 20 Hours/Week.
