Undergraduate Research Assistant – Digital Survey Development for Evaluation of Namibia’s Libraries

Position Description

This part-time research assistant position will support a research study evaluating the impacts of the recent creation of three large library-like centers in Namibia.

This position will involve taking several complex, pre-developed surveys and creating digital survey implementation tools for use on Android Tablets. The tools will be developed utilizing Kobo Toolbox. Activities will include entering questions, setting up skip logic, testing/debugging the finished products, and, potentially, setting up tablets to be used and servers to receive and store the data.

This position will average 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently, seek feedback, and offer critique;
  • Undergraduate student enrolled at the University of Washington during winter quarter 2017

This position is open to undergraduate students currently enrolled in the University of Washington, particularly those who have either applied for or are already in Informatics, Computer Science, HCDE, or Design. This position is not benefits eligible and does not cover tuition.

Pay

$15.00 – $16.75 depending on experience.
