TASCHA researcher attending Internet Governance Forum

From December 18th through the 21st TASCHA researcher Maria Garrido will attend the Internet Governance Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. The forum is convened by the Secretary-General of the UN as a focal point for researchers and practitioners in the field to engage in productive dialogue and exchange of ideas around Internet related public policy issues. This year the theme is “Shape your digital future,” with an overarching goal to maximize Internet opportunities and address risks and challenges that arise. Garrido will participate in a panel titled “Policy Changes for Public Access” organized by IFLA. The panel will examine the barriers and enablers of high impact projects, and Garrido will share her research from the Development and Access to Information Report that examines how access to information impacts development.
