Joyojeet Pal

Joyojeet is a TASCHA alumnus. He now works as an Associate Professor at the School of Information at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is interested in a range of issues around technology and development.

Previously, he was a visiting assistant professor at NYU Poly, and Computing Innovation fellow at the ATLAS institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to that, he worked with TASCHA and the UW Change group. He did his graduate studies in the Department of City and Regional Planning and at the School of Information at UC Berkeley, and during this time his research homes were TIER, MSR India, and ICSI.

His past work emphasized technology and children, specifically children’s sharing of computers in resource-strapped environments. More of recent work has been on the development and adoption of assistive technology following the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
