Samantha Becker

SSamantha Becker was the Principal Research Scientist for the U.S. Impact Study at the University of Washington Information School. The U.S. Impact Study focused on research and evaluation in the areas of public libraries, public access technology, and digital inclusion barriers and policy. Much of her work was aimed at helping libraries and community technology centers leverage information to improve outcomes for their clients and support sustainability, including developing tailored evaluation frameworks, data gathering strategies, data analysis approaches, and putting the results to work in planning and advocacy. She was also interested in how new adult users gain the skills to use technology and how to improve digital literacy training to better address their learning needs. She held master’s degrees in Library and Information Science and Public Administration from the University of Washington.
