TASCHA Researchers at QQML 2018

TASCHA Principal Research Scientist Maria Garrido and TASCHA Research Scientist Michelle Fellows will present next week at the 10th Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries International Conference (QQML 2018) in Chania, Crete, Greece. Maria will give a keynote speech titled Development and Access to Information: The Role of Libraries in Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. Her keynote will argue that the right to access to information is a fundamental ingredient in the struggle to achieve more inclusive societies. Michelle’s presntation, co-authored by TASCHA Research Assistant Moonjung Yim, is titled “From the Ground Up: Designing a Mixed-methods Study to Evaluate Three New Public Libraries in Namibia.” The presentation will demonstrate the importance of mixed-method approaches to library research and evaluation, particularly to assess the differing perspectives of library patrons, library staff, and external stakeholders on the utility and quality of library services.
